Are You in the Process of Remodeling Your Life?

We are in the process of remodeling our home.

This experience has given me the opportunity to realize that I am remodeling my life!

The first of the year we started planning our remodel, but I had no idea how it would change me.  We had a dream of ideas, defined and created plans, had to adjust our ideas and still are, hired craftsmen, selecting materials, etc.

January through March we sorted out our possessions.  What to save, give away, trash, and what we would need and want while we are living in less than 800 square feet.  That’s open loft space. (more on that another time)

We have been in construction mode since then.  Our house was built in 1964 and has been full of surprises as the building has progressed.  Here are a few: a metal jack holding up the floor in the crawl space, electrical extension cords spliced into real wires in the walls, hidden in a wall “girlie” pictures from 1954, dead things, etc.

Now We Have a Door!

And so many things that I have learned and may apply to your life too:

  • Dreams, plans, and goals can be real.
  • Dreams, plans, and goals may need to be adjusted.
  • Evaluating what you already have, like and use is vital to your plan.
  • Many times a tear-down is significant to your progress.
  • Sorting out what no longer serves you is necessary.
  • Selecting what fits your dream, plans and goals can be an adventure.
  • The outcome may be different than you thought…it can even be better!

And the Journey of Life Continues….
